Children's Dental Health
It is important to take care of your child's teeth as soon as their first tooth appears. They should be encouraged to brush twice daily using a toothpaste suitable for their age and this should ideally be supervised up until 8 years of age. A good diet low in sugar and starchy carbohydrates is also essential to help prevent tooth decay. Fruit should be eaten in moderation to help prevent acid erosion, especially of the more vulnerable baby teeth. They should see a dentist from their 1st birthday and brought regularly every 6 months from then.
At Chertsey Dental Practice we understand the importance of children's dental health and also understand how daunting a trip to the dentist can be for some children. We do all we can to make children relaxed and calm during check up's and treatment. We like to make their appointments fun and interactive and they can watch TV or DVDs during treatment to help them relax.
There are occasions with older children when orthodontic treatment might be indicated and we are able to refer you to a network of excellent local practices
Children (Under 18's) are treated under the NHS at Chertsey Dental Practice.
